I moved away from the suburb where I grew up nearly 35 years ago. When I visit my mom and go for a walk around the neighbourhood I pass the houses where I used to go visit my friends. But my friends aren’t there anymore and their parents aren’t there anymore.

Festive apple pie. 🥧

When you have 15 minutes to get to the train station and you know it takes 9 minutes by bike and you get to the local bikeshare dock and…

When the pad thai place says your takeout order will be a half hour but there’s a brew pub showing the hockey game next door.

”‘A Day At The Races’ is my favourite Marx Brothers movie. But it has blackface in it! That makes me really angry!” – MizC (13)

It’s been tough trying to integrate the word of the day into a post without it sounding cheesy, but that’s the point of this sort of exercise. Thanks to @macgenie and m.b for making it happen!

One of the things I’ve worked really hard on in my life is to not be the “well #actually” guy. As a smart nerd, it came to me easily, and I thought it made me seem impressive. As I developed some emotional intelligence, I realized that well, actually, nobody is impressed.
